Buy iPad mini now or later

Ok, after watching the Apple keynote from WWDC 2013, I think it is highly unlikely that Apple will release newer iPads this year. They only introduced ios7, osX Mavericks, new macbook air, mac pro, and so forth. So, nothing new for mobile devices except for software upgrade ios7. And they did say it will be coming in the Fall 2013.

So I'm gonna doubt any new ipads will come out this year. (If any feedback on this, please shout out).

Which brings to my first Question: Should I buy an iPad mini now or later?

I'll be going on a 5-week trekking trip in Spain in July 2013 and an iPad mini will suit my basic needs (Web browsing, writing notes, little photo-taking, little bit of networking). I will bring my iphone 5 (16gb) along as my primary photo-camera which I intend to take a lot of pics.

So should I get an iPad mini now and enjoy it or should I wait for the next version (which we will never know when it'll be released nor what new upgrades will have). Somehow i notice its more on the software than hardware, and (iPad mini) works nearly on par to iPad 4.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated, especially from other iPad mini users.

PS: If anyone has recomendations of which iPad mini to get, 16gb or 32gb, please comment.
